Architectural Design of External Wall Thermal Insulation Material

Sandwich insulation exterior wall system is a new form in the practice of exterior wall insulation, which was only used in low-rise and multi-storey buildings at home and abroad in the early days. Due to the lighter texture of the insulation material, the anti-ultraviolet radiation and weatherability are poor, and the durability cannot be equal to the main structure. Therefore, in order to protect the long-term use of insulation materials, it is necessary to use a long service life, good durability of the material to protect, so the choice of 90mm thick decorative concrete blocks, can also use the thickness of other decorative blocks (or bricks).

The sandwich insulation wall is composed of outer leaf wall, insulation layer and main structure (inner leaf wall). The inner and outer leaf walls are connected by tie pieces to resist various external forces such as wind and earthquake, and ensure the firmness and stability of each component.

The load-bearing exterior wall of the main structure can be cast-in-place shear wall structure, reinforced concrete structure, or brick masonry wall in the sandwich insulation exterior wall system. Therefore, its adaptability is more extensive.

In the sandwich insulation exterior wall system, the outer leaf wall and insulation layer are mainly supported by the joist or support plate at the elevation of each floor (or at the upper window). Generally, the pick plates are made into continuous plates with a thickness of about 100mm. There are two ways to pick beams, one is continuous pick beams; In order to reduce the loss of "thermal bridge", the joist is designed as a hollow continuous pick beam. The design can choose continuous joists or hollow joists as needed.

For joist or support plate, the exposed part of concrete shall be provided with thermal insulation measures to avoid local "thermal bridge".
